Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of URelf, including the website at urelf.com, the short links it serves, the dashboard and the API (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by [Company legal name], a company registered in Hungary under company registration number [registration number], with its registered office at [Registered address] (“URelf”, “we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

1. The Service

URelf lets you create short links (“Links”) that redirect visitors to a web address you choose (the “Destination”), and shows you aggregated statistics about how your Links are used. Features include custom short names, QR codes, click analytics and programmatic access through the API.

We may change, add or remove features over time. If we remove a feature you rely on in a way that materially reduces the Service, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account.
  • You must provide accurate information and verify your email address before you can create Links.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys secret, and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • One person may not create multiple free accounts to get around plan limits.

3. Plans and limits

The Free plan is provided at no charge and currently allows you to create up to 10 new Links per day (the daily count resets at midnight UTC) and to keep up to 100 Links at a time. Deleting a Link frees a slot in your total but does not reduce the number of Links created that day. Detailed click data is kept for 30 days; daily totals are kept for as long as the Link exists. The API is rate-limited per account. Current limits for every plan are listed on the pricing page.

Links do not expire by default. A Link stops working if you set an expiry date, delete it, delete your account, or if we disable it under these Terms.

Paid plans are not yet available. When they are, the price, billing period and any additional terms will be shown before you buy, and you will have the rights given to consumers under applicable EU law.

4. Acceptable use

You must use the Service in line with our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: no phishing, malware, spam, illegal content, deceptive redirects or attempts to evade our safety checks. You are solely responsible for your Links and their Destinations.

5. Safety checks and disabling Links

We check Destinations against our own blocklist and third-party threat-intelligence services when Links are created or edited, and periodically afterwards. We may, without prior notice, show a warning page for, disable or delete any Link, and suspend or terminate any account, if we reasonably believe it breaks these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, poses a risk to visitors or to the Service, or if we are required to do so by law. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Disabled Links show an information page instead of redirecting.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to the Destinations, titles and other information you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, process and display Your Content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service. You confirm that you have the rights needed to share Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

Short names are allocated on a first-come basis and do not give you any ownership or trademark rights. We may reclaim a short name that infringes a third party’s rights, impersonates someone, or is reserved for the Service.

7. API

You may use the API within your plan’s rate limits and quotas. Don’t share API keys publicly, don’t use the API to scrape or overload the Service, and don’t use it to build a service that resells URelf Links without our written permission. We may revoke keys that are abused or leaked.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design and the URelf name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to it other than the right to use the Service as described here.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, both yours and that of people who click your Links. If you are subject to the GDPR and use Links in a way that makes you responsible for visitors’ data, you must comply with your own obligations, including informing visitors where required.

10. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep the Service available and fast, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform maintenance, which may briefly affect the Service.

11. No warranty

The Free plan is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or loss of goodwill;
  • our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and EUR 100;
  • we are not responsible for the content of Destinations, which are operated by third parties.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional or grossly negligent breach.

13. Indemnity

If you use the Service for business purposes, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims, and related reasonable costs, arising from your Links, Your Content or your breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account deletes your Links, which then stop redirecting, and their analytics. We may suspend or terminate your account as described in section 5, or with 30 days’ notice for any other reason. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 6, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 16) will survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required by law or addresses abuse or security. If you don’t agree to the new Terms, you can delete your account before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept them.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law, e.g. Hungary], excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of [Competent courts, e.g. Budapest] have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules and the right of consumers to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution information is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
